So this is TWRP

ONLY FOR XPERIA S (nozomi)

Code:

package opensemc.twrp;

import disclaimer;

public class TWRPDisclaimer extends Disclaimer {

/**
* Your warranty is now likely void.
*
* I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* spontaneous combustion, or any other host of cosmic penalties
* which may befall you, your family, or your phone.
*
*/
    public TWRPDisclaimer(){
        getWarranty().set(null);
    }

}

I managed to built twrp for the Xperia S with the OpenSEMC sources (github) by using this guide http://rootzwiki.com/topic/23903-how...p-from-source/
really simple and it should be merged soon into OpenSEMC
for the meantime you can install the OpenSEMC kernel with TWRP inbuilt (instead of CWM)
because i built this with the OpenSEMC kernel, i can not grantee it to work with other roms, you may try it out

TWRP works like CWM , it just has more functions and a touch interface, which is really nice, cause I really hate pressing buttons in CWM

screenshots not taken on the Xperia S

Requirements
  • you NEED to have an unlocked bootloader
  • this includes the OpenSEMC kernel, so it should be used with the OpenSEMC CM10.1 Rom
Install Instuctions
  1. Download the boot.img with TWRP HERE
  2. Flash the boot.img using this fastboot command
    Code:

    fastboot flash boot boot.img
  3. Reboot your Phone
  4. Quite simply, right ?

BEWARE
This CAN brick your device
Do it at your own will
I am not responsible to what happens to your device

[RECOVERY] TWRP 2.4.3.0 touch recovery [2013-03-01]

NOTE: Read special notes for Xperia S in the 2nd post!

Team Win Recovery Project 2.x, or twrp2 for short, is a custom recovery built with ease of use and customization in mind. It’s a fully touch driven user interface – no more volume rocker or power buttons to mash. The GUI is also fully XML driven and completely theme-able. You can change just about every aspect of the look and feel.

Phone look:

Tablet look:

CHANGELOG for 2.4.3.0:
-Fixed 2 bugs related to restore, one dealing with mknod failures (by bigbiff) and one dealing with restoring hardlinks (by Dees_Troy)
NOTE: If your backups weren't restoring correctly in earlier 2.4.x versions they should restore correctly now. Hopefully you didn't delete those backups. If you're still having problems, run the restore, go to advanced and copy log, then give us the log. Complaints without logs will be rightfully ignored.
-Added a scroll bar to file selectors and listboxes courtesy of Tassadar
-Added libblkid for more accurate detection of file systems and can now detect exFAT properly thanks to bigbiff
-Added a screen dim effect 2 seconds before screen off on some devices
-Finally fixed file selector crash (one of the joys of working with multi-threaded software)
-Fixed loading of screen timeout setting during startup
-Improvements and bugfixes to screen timeout code
-Fixed persistence of the 24 hour / military time setting

CHANGELOG for 2.4.2.0:
-Add screen timeout - screen will turn off automatically after 60 seconds, saves battery and prevents screen burn-in especially on AMOLED devices
-Add a brightness setting (requires device specific setup and only some devices have been added)
-Add a root checker and offer to install SuperSU if the device isn't already rooted
-Add a write buffer to libtar backups, significant improvements to speeds when backing up to exFAT target, minor improvements for other file systems
-Check and offer to fix root permissions if broken
-Add an option for a 24 hour clock display instead of AM/PM (aka military time)
-Move stock recovery reflash check to occur during the reboot cycle
-Add support for some MTK6xxx devices
-Change libtar to vfork to help prevent memory problems
-Add a "clicked" effect to most buttons, file selector, and listbox
-Improve timezone listbox to be more like file selector (per pixel kinetic scrolling, etc)
-Remove some no longer used settings (Forced MD5 sum on zips, size checking on image backups)
-Other minor bugfixes and improvements

CHANGELOG for 2.4.1.0:
-Fixed a problem with mkdosfs that formatted sdcards to 2GB
-Fixed handoff between vfat and exFAT on devices where blkid didn't detect vfat (fixes some issues with mounting sdcards)
-Fixed problems with changing working directory on MD5 creation/checking that may have prevented unmounting
-Backups will now store a copy of the backup log after the backup is completed (only if backup is successful)

CHANGELOG for 2.4.0.0:
-Using libtar instead of busybox's tar for better control over tar file creation and breaking the 2GB barrier that busybox imposes (thanks to bigbiff)
-Support for exFAT formatted sdcards (also thanks to bigbiff)
-Support for decrypting Samsung TouchWiz encrypted devices including internal and external storage (special thanks to a3955269 for figuring it out)
-Improvements to OpenRecoveryScript including displaying a proper GUI while the script is running
-Added wipe cache and dalvik after ADB Sideload
-Replaced many system calls with their native C counterparts
-Fixed bugs in file manager where it would display an empty list after moving or deleting a folder
-Fixed AOSP recovery commands to run after decryption on encrypted devices
-Improvements for building TWRP in CM10.1
-Other minor bugfixes and improvements
NOTE: 2.4.0.0 is, as always, still compatible with your older backups!

CHANGELOG for 2.3.3.0:
-Fix renaming backups with a space in the name
-Add decrypt button to mount page if you cancel decryption during startup
-Added ignore blkid flag
-Fixed handling of MTD partitions during mount
-Fixed some keyboard mapping issues on 800x1280 layout

Flashable Recoveries In FOTA partition CWM and TWRP

After Dees_Troy post here about recovery in FOTA partition. I believe from now on every kernel develper will implement elf extract in his/her kernel then end user can choose whatever they like to use.

If you are lucky enough (your kernel already support elf extract) then choice is your!!

To install TWRP 2.4.3 in FOTA partition simply install below zip in recovery
http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?ughnzu67govme2v

To install CWM 6.0.1.9 in FOTA partition simply install below zip in recovery

[DEV][PORT] ClearPhase & xLOUD Working without Speaker Volume Bug

$
0
0
First, this is a dev topic, targeting advanced users and higher.
Dont post useless comments and off topics.
Let's go.

Everyone who tries and tried to port this knows that the clearphase & xloud feature will make speaker volume reduces after ~10 seconds playing through speaker.

To make it a success, let's share our ideas here so all porters will gain information and maybe found a way to port it.
- Share any information u think might help porters.
- Comment which system files you think are important to port this. Or even better if u confirmed its necessary.
- Files u have tested and the results.
- Suggestion & ideas

Start with mine,
Quote:

1) audioeffectservice.apk which got clearphase feature will cause speaker volume reduce bug.
- XV ICS (tested)
- XV JB (tested)
- XZ JB (tested)

2) Above devices don't use libxloudwrapper, libvptwrapper, libclearaudiowrapper
3) Above devices use libdownmix, libfnrwrapper, libposteffectwrapper, libpreeffectwrapper
4) Once you played music through headset, switch to speaker and volume will get revived for another 10 seconds.
5) Files to port (i only port this 2) - bootloop if this 2 files are not from same device)
- audioeffectservice.apk
- semc_audioeffectif.jar

6) Soundenhancement.apk depands on audioeffectservice for effects, nothing to do with porting, so just use the one from:
- My AIO Audio Mod v5
- ACID Audio Engine v7
because it has all toggles(clearphase, xloud, dynamic, clearstereo) and its scaled correctly unlike XV or XZ SE.apk

7) libaudcal.so will make speaker volume low (so use stock, dont replace)
8) libaudioflinger, libaudioeffect_ini will cause bootloop.
Unsolved:
What do u think about the file libaudioparsers.so? It Doesnt affect anything for me.
How about testing tablet S's audioeffecrservice? (Anyone has the file?)
Which files u think may prevent volume reduce bug?

PS: Currently using XV - ICS 9.0.1.D.0.10 to make success port.

Hi guys.
I have my UXP Rom which is Cm10 themed as Stock.
And i got asked to make something like that just in the other way.
So we're talking about a Cm10, themed like Stock based on a Stock Rom for those who can't or won't unlock their bootloader, to experienece Cm10 in base of stock.

And because you're the greatest communty ever, i wanted to ask which name it should have?

1st version will be online tomorrow within the day... :)

This is the method by rickwyatt(http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=418391)
SHOULD WORK ON THE XPERIA S!
I DO NOT HAVE DRM KEYS SO I DID NOT RESTORE ANYTHING OUT OF THIS!
All credit goes to rickwyatt

Backup Your TA Partition Before You Unlock Your Bootloader

This wont work if you locked your bootloader already because you have already changed you TA partition. also don't flash someone elses TA it will hard brick your phone !!

what i found out
I backed up my TA partition before unlocking my bootloader
after unlocking my bootloader with flash tools and lost my drm keys and ba2
so i thought to myself what would happen if i flashed my locked TA image
i then reflashed it with adb and rebooted my sony z was
locked and drm and ba2 was working again it was like i never unlocked it sweet

Too backup TA do this

(1) Root your phone from here
(2) extract Backup-TA.rar to c:/
(3) click and run Backup-TA
(4) select 1 to backup
(5) make sure ta.img is in C:\Backup-TA\tools\backup

Too restore TA.img do this
(1) click and run Backup-TA
(2) select 2 to restore
(3) select 3

done

CODE:

backup
Code:

adb.exe shell dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p1 of=/sdcard/TA.img
adb.exe pull sdcard/TA.img C:\Backup-TA\tools\backup\TA.img
cls

restore
Code:

adb.exe push backup/TA.img sdcard/TA.img
adb.exe shell dd if=/sdcard/TA.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p1

IF THIS DOES NOT WORK REPORT ME I WILL CREATE A DIFFERENT SCRIPT FOR THE XPERIA S THEN!
HIT THANKS IF THIS HELPED!

[ features ]
  1. Easy to flash update.zip via recovery
  2. Prerooted and busybox installed
  3. working CWM recovery is included in kernel
[ To enter recovery keep pressing VOLUME UP button AFTER u see the "PINK" LED at bootup (Sony logo) ]

[ whats not working? ]

you tell me!

please report other things as and when you find them

[ requirements ]
  • unlocked bootloader
  • previously on stock .55 ICS ROM or roms based on that [since some components of THIS rom contain files from those firmwares]
  • supplied ROM
  • any existing kernel with recovery or just extract the boot.img (contains inbuilt recovery) from the ROM i have uploaded and flash it using fastboot

[ how to install ]
  1. download the ROM and save it on SDCARD
  2. reboot device into recovery (make sure that the /system partition is unmounted, i have noticed that in some kernels the /system partition remains mounted)
  3. flash the ROMs update.zip (this will take some time)
  4. thats it now reboot device
  5. at first boot device will reboot once after bootanimation thats expected
  6. next boot will take a long time!!!
  7. it might happen that in after some reboots u get a "flashing firmware screen" thats ok.. let it complete... DO NOT DISTURB WHILE THAT PROCESS IS GOING ON!!!
  8. after a few reboots the ROM should stabilize!
  9. enjoy!

If you are getting Status 7 Error while flashing in recovery just extract the boot.img (contains inbuilt recovery) from the ROM i have uploaded and flash it using fastboot then enter ROM and flash it through recovery
